Alex has set himself some challenges for the coming year and signed up for some Triathlons.
These help with motivation and a target to work towards for his day to day training. He wants to continue to focus on his mobility and function improvements.
We've worked a lot on loosening up his hips, postural pulling work for his shoulders/ upper and mid back, and his rotator cuff muscles to counter the effects of rounded desk posture. We've also made inroads to getting better activity in his glutes whilst strengthening his core.
He has a desk based job which can literally kill people's hip mobility and proper function in the glutes due to the long periods in the same position. Glutes can get long and weak...whilst hip flexors may get short and tight.
Sitting for long periods is one of the biggest challenges to modern humans in terms of the symptoms it creates around lower back pain, tight hips, sleepy glutes and a more injury prone general population when they try to exercise with some intensity.
IF YOU ARE BASED IN SALE/TRAFFORD AREA AND ARE A DESKBOUND WORKER WHO SUFFERS WITH INJURIES, NIGGLES OR CONSTANT LOWER BACK ISSUES GET IN TOUCH FOR PERSONAL TRAINING.
Finally.. a thought for the day from one of my favourite humans...
