9% Body Fat dropped, 13 Body inches dropped, 18lbs fat mass dropped, 22lbs lean mass gained
On October 10th 2013, i was lucky enough to be introduced to Sean Murray by one of his good friends Laura. Laura had mentioned something about boot camp and for me to give it a go, and i would love it.
That evening, I walked into the sports hall of St Matthews High School with Laura, and I remember I was so nervous and didn’t have a clue what to expect. I felt frumpy, clumsy and had very low confidence in what I could do.
I had reached a point in my life where I needed a change. After 12 months at Slimming World and having lost 5 and a 1/2 stone, all I wanted to do was get fit, feel fit and be fit. Being a mum to my 5 year old twins and 4 year old son, I needed to be in the best health for them, but most importantly, I was doing this for me.
After my first session of bootcamp, I felt the change almost immediately. Sean’s confident, well executed bootcamp was the start of a new journey for me. His knowledge is immense and so naturally gifted in what he loves to do. This left me feeling hopeful that I could do this.
I did Spartan Training Camp twice a week and by January 2014, I started to focus more on my Strength & Conditioning with nutrition. This is when Sean introduced me to a new world of General Physical Preparedness Training and I became a true Spartan member. Since then I have never looked back.
Training 3 times a week with Sean, I was building my strength and fitness quicker than i thought. I had never even picked up a kettlebell or weights and now I can Deadlift for 1 rep 112.5kg to date and swing a 20kg kettlebell overhead in a workout. After every workout, I felt great and looked forward to my next session. Sean never gave anything away, so I didn’t have any idea what each session consisted of, which made it that much better, as it creates a feeling of pure self-confidence to do your very best no matter what the session consisted.

I am now at a point in my life, where I have never felt and looked as good as I feel. My confidence is growing and I am wearing clothes that I wore when I was a Teenager. I can only thank Sean for his continuous and ever growing support for his team. He has helped me achieve so many milestones that even I didn’t realise I could achieve. His determination and full accuracy throughout my training is above A* quality and I can honestly say, I am so honoured to have met Sean.

One of my biggest achievements to date, is being able to run in my workouts without stopping. The thought of having to run would make me feel sick, but with Sean’s full support and continuous positive attitude, I overcame my biggest struggle. I still don’t like running, but I will always run with pride that I overcame my weakest area in my fitness.
I feel fantastic, my health is in such a better place than before and I have gained so much more confidence within myself. From the start of my journey, I wanted to get Lauren back, and I can truly say that I have never felt so comfortable with myself than I do now. I have Sean to thank for his superb efforts, his patience, his knowledge, his support the drive and motivation throughout, I could go on.
I am still a Spartan and will always carry the Spartan in me with pride. Anything is possible, if you want it you must work for it, no matter what it may be! I have learnt to surround myself with positive people and the results just flow one after another, after another.
